Dalam Peraturan Menteri Kesehatan Nomor 161/Menkes/Per/I/2010
tentang Registrasi Tenaga Kesehatan diatur registrasi sebagai berikut:
Setiap Tenaga Kesehatan yang akan menjalankan pekerjaan
keprofesiannya wajib memiliki STR. Untuk memperoleh STR, Tenaga Kesehatan harus mengajukan permohonan nah buat teman teman bidan lulusan tahun 2011 ke bawah,,,,, mesti ngurus ni STR sebelum tahun 2012 dimulai,,,,,, karena bila telat kita mesti ikut uji kompetensi bru bisa dapatin yang namanya STR itu. STR bisa diurus di daerah masing masing,Buat yg tinggal di kawasan Bulukumba bisa menghadap ke IBI daerah ...persaratannya bawa : 3 fotocopi ijasah yg udah dilegalisir plus foto 4x6 5 lembar + biaya administrasi 50 rb... tapi buat yg belum masuk IBI mesti masuk IBI dulu, pembayarannya 332.500 rupiah (totalnya jadi 382.500 rupiah).........
